Thank God for men like this.Bishop Gumbleton is not someone I know personally but I have friends that do know him.They have told me how he does not look at his life as a church official, but as a servant of God! He tends to look at the bigger picture and not just what the hierarchy tells him. Unfortunely we can see what happens to people that stand up for what is right. The abuse cases are a perfect example of how the Priest,Bishops,and hierarchy deals with problems.They are never afraid to tell us how we have sinned, but when it is about them they find ways to sweep it under the rug. The church actually has a cannon law that says it is all right to lie if it is for the good of the church. That is not Gods law this is a law made by the hierarchy to allow them to get away with out being held responsible for their actions. How sad it is they have chosen to deceive us rather then to be honest and tell the truth. Thank God for Preist and Sisters that do stand up for the truth. I had an older Sister that confided to me that her convent was covering up information about Priest abuse and that she was told that if she said anything she would be thrown out. How sad. Here was a woman that had given her etire life to the church and the church has threatened her future because she feels called to tell the TRUTH. We all need to be counted not just the hierarchy.In Gennesis CH. 1 verse 27 it says, God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them. God wants all our voices to be heard not just a few at the top!!!!!!
