Waiting In Silence
While watching the newscasts about the shootings in Connecticut, I heard one newscaster say," Coming up next, What sort of survivor tips are there for this kind of tragedy?"
I lowered my head as I knew that the broadcast would be about the obvious: most gunman are right handed- dive to your left- they will have to go across their body, get low, do not scream (really, an army type told me that they shoot the screamers first!). Or perhaps the segment would have talked about grief counselors or seeking other types of therapists?
I knew what I wish the newscaster would have said, "Pray. Develop a relationship with God and His family. You will survive anything."
I would have been waiting in silence for that comment until waaaaay after Advent.
