"ALL HANDS BELOW DECK ! ! ! "

I'll be back.

I wanted to talk about what I was doing for Lent,( kind of a nautical theme), but am having trouble making it to the computer. I am reminded of the story about the minister who was upstairs working on his sermon when his wife yelled up the stairs that Mrs. Conley was there to see him. Frustrated because he needed to finish his sermon for Sunday, he yelled down, "Tell her I'm not here." Then he quickly sighed and got up and went to the door. There was Mrs. Conley standing at the bottom of the steps looking at him with a sad expression. The minister had forgotten what his job really was all about. The people were the reason for his calling.

So, no, there are no pirates about! But a number of things need my attention at the bottom of the steps. I guess that's what I'm doing for Lent?

I guess 'you' people are the people who were not content to treat the consolidation as an episode of "The Emperor's New Clothes". They just could not say, "Oh yes! We will agree with everything you say!(even if we don't see it." 'You people' from Kirby, Salem and Upper Sandusky merely tried to offer their experience and wisdom to the situation. Gotta admit,I enjoy listening and talking to "you people" because I like their earnestness and their insight. They are willing to hash it out until everyone starts to nod their heads and say "That might work, let's try it." And if it doesn't work out, they will try something else. But they will talk about it. Is that so bad?
