Age to Age
Age to Age we will love you.
Dawning light we will wake with you.
Into night we will follow you.
We will love you Age to Age.

As the pianist played the intro to this song a couple of Sundays ago, I froze. I was reminded of the "Close Encounters" Sci Fi movie where the mother ship communicated by combinations of simple notes. I must admit that my eyes misted a bit as the simple beauty of the notes touched me in a way I couldn't explain. I later looked up the words to the refrain and realized that it was the simplicity that was so appealing. The love that God has for us is timeless. No matter what irritation may present itself, we have the capability to shrug it off and keep walking.
We love Him. We wake and walk with Him. We follow Him into the unknown of the night. We know that we love Him.
I frequently hummed that refrain on my walk for the last two weeks. When the choir started the song today, I did not mist over. I smiled and thought, "Yes, I know you're there. Thanks for the reminder. I'll keep it simple."
