A New Year
Someone sent me the following and it struck a chord:
Three things in life that, once gone, never come back--
1. Time
2. Words
3. Opportunity
Three things in life that can destroy a person--
1. Anger
2. Pride
3. Unforgiveness
Three things in life that you should never lose--
1. Hope
2. Peace
3. Honesty
Three things in life that are most valuable--
1. Love
2. Family& Friends
3. Kindness
Three things in life that are never certain--
1. Fortune
2. Success
3. Dreams
Three things in life that make a person--
1. Commitment
2. Sincerity
3. Hardwork
Three things in life that are truly constant--
Father Son Holy Spirit
I ask the Lord to bless you, as I pray for you today;
to guide you and protect you, as you go along the way.
God's love is always with you, God's promises are true.
and when you give God all your cares,
you know God will see you through.
Happy New Year !!

Happy New Year !
Last night's homily at mass suggested that one should not make a list of resolutions this time of year, instead we should try to meditate and quietly be open. I thought about it last night and I found merit in it. (My commitment to those previous lists of resolutions never really bore fruit anyway!)
I feel as if these last couple of years of my involvement with the church were about withstanding a variety of blows. Now, maybe with meditation and openness, it is time to stand up and find a sense of balance that I feel the Lord demands me to have to serve Him.
No more watching with wonderment as each blow (from the institution thugs!) connects to my jaw and causes me to cry out. It's time to deftly avoid the stings of their fists by refusing to walk into their path of attack.
2008 may truly be the 'Year of Our Lord'?
